One last lunch

Around lunchtime, Spencer felt his phone vibrate.

'Hey Spence. Might not get a chance to see you again so wanna have lunch?'

'what about Friday??'

'heading off early for training'

'Oh. Didn't realize'

'Sorry my bad'

'what bout lunch tomorrow?'

'gonna be discussing the trip with Justine. Sorry'

'its fine. c u at 12' Spencer pocketed his phone.

Spencer pulled up by the Corner Coffee House and entered, finding Evelyn talking to a waitress. Spencer got his order in before sitting down with Evelyn.

"Hey Spence. I'm sorry about not telling you earlier about heading off Friday."

"Don't sweat it Evie. You've got a lot on your plate."

Evelyn shrugged. "I guess."

"So how's your day been?"

"Peaceful so far."

"Not like yesterday?"

"Eh, yesterday was peaceful for me." Evelyn stated, hoping to dodge the fact she was the one to confirm the presence of dynamite. "The guy in the bomb suit, however."

"Well the news didn't say anything about him getting blown up so I guess that's pretty peaceful by his standards."

"Only thing I know is that if the bomb squad start running that it's best to keep up."

After a slight laugh, Spencer said "Fair enough."

"Seriously you never know what you'll find some basements."

"Yeah? What's your best find?"

"Managed to find a long-lost pocket watch from the 1800s."

"That worth much?"

"I wouldn't know. Not mine to keep?"

"Oh. Of course."

"Seriously though, you should check your basement out."

"I did."

"I'd check again. Some of those old guys could be pretty crafty."

"I guess. Then again I don't think I wanna stumble onto a stash of dynamite."

"That's fair."

The waitress then arrived with their meals. After eating, Evelyn said "Alright, I better get going. With any luck, I'll see you today."

"Here's hoping."

The two exchange a kiss before going their separate ways.
