The early morning sun always filled Vik with a warmth that gave him a feeling that he had more hours in a day than usual. That's why ever since he came here he always started his day on this small hill over looking the port.

He liked watching the sun rising over horizen as well as watching the port getting gradually busy as fishermen returnedfrom fishing as well bigger ships start their daily operations loading and offloading cargo before they set sail again.

It reminded him of his last home though the stark difference between the two was immense. He was stationed in the space station that was orbiting Mercury in the Sol system. It was a research station whose existence the Terran empire would deny and kill countless people every year to keep it as covert as it can.

Even as a crown prince of the empire once he decided to conduct his experiments there, he had to abdicate his position in a public manner citing he had a rare untreatable disorder that made him unsuitable for the position before he was allowed into the station.

The Terran Empire started it's meteoric rise when his grandmother the previous empress created a gene therapy that gave the humans the abilities. But after the gene therapy each person was only able to aquire one ability. Whether it was elemental control, physical attribute enhancement or thousand other abilities that's been recorded since then.
