Chapter 83 by henrytemp

Who should we check in on first?

Alex and Gina

"Thanks, just set them right against the wall, where I put that one," Gina instructed.

Alex stacked the boxes where he was told and Gina smiled noticing that he had rushed back out to get the last of the boxes meaning she had only carried 1 to his 4.

"What's in these anyway?" Alex asked.

"Oh it's your guy's shirts for welcome back week. No peeking."

"Wouldn't think of it," Alex laughed.

Gina sat down on a small love seat in her room, and directed Alex to do the same.

"Okay if we talk for a bit?" she more told than asked.

"Yeah, sure," he responded, taking a seat and hanging his head.

"I wanted to thank you for keeping things as chill as you have, considering. I mean we can all feel the awkwardness..."

"I'm sorry..." Alex started to interrupt.

"No, not your fault, like I said you could have handled things differently and we would have had to send you home."

"I've been tempted to ask," he said, looking up at her then looking back down.

"I'm glad you haven't," she said scooting towards him and placing her hand on his shoulder. The movement caught him off guard. "On the way back I was thinking about Welcome Back Week last year. During the Ultimate Frisbee, when both frisbees ended up on the roof of a campus house, without blinking you grabbed a ladder and climbed up and got them."

Alex looked up at her.

"If anyone else had been looking at Makayla during your performance they would have noticed the glowing smile she had. I also noticed the look on her face when she realized we were doing the trust fall. You still love her?" She again told, more than asked.

"Yeah."

"Work this out with her tonight, okay?"

Alex nodded.

"I mean, who you date isn't my business, but having two miserable people that don't need to be, is."

"I understand."

"Also, I wanted to apologize for yesterday," Gina added.

Alex looked at her confused.

"When I stopped and talked to you on the hike."

"Oh yeah, that was... odd," Alex replied.

"Yeah I know," she said, this time it was her looking down. "I need your help with something, and the only person I thought I could trust, I'm not sure I can. Honestly, I shouldn't be bringing this up, never mind."

"Are you sure? I mean I can try and help."

Gina took a deep breath, are you sure you want to bring a student in on this? she asked herself

"No, I think I'll hold off, but..."

"Whatever you need, just ask," Alex volunteered.

"Thanks," she gave him another pat on the back as he left. She then went back to the couch and collapsed. She'd always maintained a professional distance with the students, but the smirk Pitt had given her when she told him about the notes had been unsettling. Alex seemed a safe choice to confide in, but her conscience told her no. She probably shouldn't even have told Pitt. Maybe I should tell Bren... no I can't. Their play session the night before had been hot, but she wasn't sure about him pushing her to fantasize about other men, especially a student. She had no interest in Pitt whatsoever and couldn't imagine him cheating on his wife, but he definitely knew something. He and Erik were friendly, and Erik was really the only person bold enough to do something like that. But would Erik have clued him in? And would he approve of that behavior? She realized that although her and Pitt had worked together for a while she didn't really know him at all.

Who next?
