Morning Practice

This had to be the worst habit I started last year. I began to practice every morning with her in Quidditch.

And I had gotten nowhere with her, instead I was now on the Quidditch team as Cho Chang's Backup. The second string Seeker.

I enjoyed what was probably the best thing about walking out to the Quidditch Pitch, and that of course was Cho's legs.

She had lost a little muscle and tightness in the offseason, but in a few weeks she would be looking as great as ever.

Cho laughed, knowing exactly what I was doing as we walked.

"You are going to have to focus if you ever want to take my spot," said Cho.

"I am the definition of focus," I said.

"Focus on things other than my legs," said Cho. I wouldn't do it.

For nearly an hour we chased after the snitch. And Cho seemed to be a step slower than usual.

I kept up with her neck and neck.

"You've gotten better," said Cho, "you're really going to be tough to beat out this year."

Oh, did I really get better?

"How about a final race," said Cho?

"To the other side," I said.

"To the other side," she agreed.

We burst off suddenly, I was confident in myself in a straight line.

I quickly began to inch her out. Until I had nearly a two foot lead.

And then I felt something heavy strike my head.

My vision darkened. and when I was able to regain my bearing, I found myself in free fall with no wand in my hand.

"Idius," Cho screamed.

I saw Onix colored metal, floating beside me in free fall, and without a worry I reached my hand out and grabbed it.

"Glasses," I Whispered. I had been hit by a pair of glasses, but these glasses were made of a metal heavier than any I had previously known.

The ground was coming close, and I did the only thing I knew, and closed my eyes.

The wind was knocked out of me, but that was the extent of my pain.

I felt Cho's arms around me, and saw when I opened my eyes that she had caught me.

"Bloody Hell," I said.

Cho's face didn't share my calm.

"What the hell happened," said Cho?

Was I supposed to explain to her that some random pair of eyeglasses had hit me and knocked me off a broom.

These glasses were only a couple of wires and still were as heavy as a dumbbell.

"I thought I was about to hit a bird," I said, "was just these glasses."

"Glasses up here," said Cho? "That makes no sense."
