Search the drawers

As Ada practically leaped forward in her eagerness to rifle through the drawers, a sudden movement nearly drew a scream from her. After a split second of heart-stopping terror, she realized she was only looking at her darkened reflection in an ornate oval mirror set above the chest of drawers and let out a nervous little laugh. Shaking her head, she took a moment to examine her reflection. Light brown hair with a tendency to curl, pulled back in a pony-tail that extended just a few inches past her slender shoulders. Long lashes framing hazel eyes set into a delicately boned face. Smooth, slightly tanned skin with just a few light freckles marring an otherwise perfect complexion. Her breasts weren’t much to brag about, just a C-cup, but they were perky enough and she noticed that what with the chill air her nipples were clearly outlined by the thin material of her bra and white T-shirt. Naturally athletic, every morning she went jogging to keep her legs and behind nice and toned, and while she had just the slightest hint of a belly that had stubbornly refused to go away despite all the sit-ups in the world, even when she smoothed her shirt down she decided it wasn’t too noticeable.

“I don’t look too bad,” she commented, running a hand over her chest and down her stomach.

“No, not bad at all,” came a soft voice from behind her.

This time she did scream.

Whirling around to make what she already knew would be a doomed sprint for the door, Ada instead wound up practically in the arms of the woman behind her, who held her in place with an inhumanly strong grip. Even in the midst of her panicked struggles, Ada realized with sudden cold clarity that she was about to die. That had always been a possibility, and one she’d come to terms with the day she decided to break into this mansion, but now that it was happening what could she do about it?
