7-9: Kate is curious

There is time to kill before this appointment, so you post that you will be there before going about with cleaning up, dinner, and prepping for tomorrow's presentation. As you are flying home tomorrow as well, there is the general gathering and straightening of the rest of your effects to do, too. Once everything is as organized and set out as it can be, you are left with nothing to do but wait. You don't really feel like reading, so you turn on the television. You periodically check the chat room, with increasing frequency as the allotted hour approaches, until there is a reply.

s: it's definitely not great at the time i'm doing it

You walk over to your files and pull out the card. Next to the "O:" phone number is an asterisk written in ink, and the numbers "7-4".

s: she marked her office phone number and wrote 7-4 next to it
k: nice of her to tell you her office hours. is she married?

You try and remember if she had a wedding band. You're not certain, but you faintly recall jewelry on her left hand of some kind.

s: i think so, though i'm not sure
k: my guess is if you call that number you can set up a lunch meeting that covers any topic and uncovers any body part you'd like. i could be wrong, of course, but that's how it reads to me.
s: huh
k: so are you up to it? do you have time in your schedule to fit it in?
s: do you want me to do it? it doesn't bother you?
