Forested hills
"LT we have an issue. Some idiot took her armor off and decided to climb a tree. She fell and the medic says we can't move until she can fix her up. Non-negotiable." Amelia informed you, obviously hating to be the bearer of bad news. "It'll take up the rest of the day for her to get in shape for it."
"Damn it. Well, I guess we're having a bit of break. I think we've just found a volunteer for any heroic last stands that might take place." You gave the order for everyone to relax a bit. You also explicitly ordered everyone except Vos and her scouts to avoid climbing trees. As if summoned by your order Vos dropped to the ground next to you.
"More trouble. It seems the Authority has some friends. Or we've just got bad luck. More drones inbound. I can't say for sure but they look like they're from the Cuban Conglomerate. They've got the right propaganda painted all over them anyway." She showed you a picture and you frowned.
You hadn't even known the Cubans had staked a claim here. They obviously couldn't win on their own so they were probably pairing up with some of the other minor nations or with the IAA as Vos had suggested.
In any case, these were more dangerous than the swarmers that had attacked you earlier. Vos had spotted both ground models and air models moving in. You wouldn't be able to get a full number until they were closer. Still, you recalled what you knew about them.
The Revolution Class drones were pretty much relics. The Cubans had decided to keep them running far longer than anyone else. They were a bit slow moving but if they got into range they could still pack a punch. That was just the ground-based drone of course.
The Viva drones were in the same category of relic but they were more recent. Each one could lift a soldier by themselves. You would have to be careful in dealing with them. You had a bit of time to prepare for the attack.
"We could go out and meet them. We don't really gain much by staying here, there's not much cover. If we don't take them out quick they could call for reinforcements." Amelia suggested.
"True but some cover is better than none. I highly doubt if there were more forces in the area our enemies would just keep plying us with unsupported drones." Sierra pointed out.
"Why not both? My troops could move out and hit them in the flank. It would be a risk but we could really cause some serious damage." Vos suggested.
"What do you think LT?"
