The Rush

Kappa Psi was the second largest sorority on campus, the largest Asian sorority on campus, and one of the "Big 4" most prestigious sororities on campus. When deciding which sororities she wanted to rush for, Christy took all these factors into account. She was used to being popular and built her reputation on being "that" girl. Now, away from home and off to college it was time for her to form her own identity.

She arrived at the Kappa Psi house 30 minutes before the rushing began. As she walked up the stairs to the white marble mansion-like sorority house, she looked around at all the other girls walking there for the first time as well. After signing in with the sisters at the door, Christy entered the enormous house. As she waited for the ceremonies to start, her attention slowly drifted away into the music. She recalled talking to her roommate about rushing Kappa Psi a few days earlier. "Remember, their initiation ceremony is the most intense of all of the Big 4," her roommate said. "You have to show them that you REALLY want to be one of them."

Before she knew it, the sorority sisters had rounded up all the newcomers in the main hall of the house. "Listen up fishies," one sister said, referring to the freshman. "On behalf of Kappa Psi, I would like to thank you all for coming here tonight to put yourselves to the test to see if you can truly be a sister of this great sorority."
