Chapter 38 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

First Impressions?

Really packed!

Once we were at the front door the music was loud enough to be heard outside the house from a mile away. Nick had knocked on the door and some emo looking girl around my height with a pale face and long hair covering one eye opened it up. “Hey Sony, hows the party?” “Good enough.” She muttered before letting us in. I smiled at her but she looked away uninterested. Rude. Inside the place was lit up in yellow, a chandelier hung at the ceiling lighting up what looked like the living room that had four couches surrounding a round table in the center. The floor was wooden and creaked with every step. There was a fireplace made of rocks and cement that remained unlit, probably for the best. That was to my right, to my left I could see the kitchen all in white tiles for a change with plenty of food and snacks on the kitchen table, I think I noticed there were a few cupcakes and a lot of brownies and some chips and sodas. Facing the front door and splitting up the two rooms was the stairs that led up to the second floor, I’m guessing where all the private rooms were. This was a big house.

“Sony, about how many people are here tonight?” Gabi asked the emo girl who leaned against the door with a drink in hand. She shrugged. “About 40 people would be my guess, you guys might be the last ones here.” Gabi nodded as Carl rubbed his hands together. “Let’s get some drinks, guys.” He seemed excited for that as he even led us down pass the living room, our group greeting a lot of other kids I don’t know about. Plenty of guys and girls relaxing on the couches with drinks in hand, some were standing up behind the couches and there were a few who were talking at the kitchen.

Carl took us behind the stairs where I noticed the glass wall that overlooked the lake, a deck in view attached to the house with a light at the end where a boathouse was visible. Behind the stairs however were more stairs leading down this time, this house consisted of three floors not two. Walking down there, the place felt a bit colder, a bit more chilly that it left me wanting a jacket or a sweater almost. Under the house was... wooden, to say the least. The walls, floor and ceiling were all brown planks of wood in a stylized fashion. The bar took up one side of the wall with a few kids messing around with the bottles behind the counter trying to mix some drinks and plenty of others sitting down talking and drinking and yelling. At the other end was a pool table with four guys playing, and a few other kids were taking turns throwing darts. There was a glass door this time that opened up to the docks I saw before, a few girls sat there dipping their feet into the water with a few guys at the boathouse drinking. Seemed like the party was more chill than it was wild, but I liked that. Plenty of loud music anyways. Nick and Carl went ahead and gave themselves a few drinks. “You guys want some?” They offered, with Gabi and I nodding. “Hey Alex?” Carl asked. “Yea?” “You’ve drank **** before right?” “Yea.” He smiles. “What’s your favorite ****?” “Bet ya it’s tequila.” Nick added with Gabi hitting his ribs and me laughing. This is nice. “No it’s um, it’s jager actually.” “Oh really?” One of the guys behind the counter stepped in and leaned against the bar, interested in what I said. “Yea...” “Well, we got ourselves a full bottle of that. Let’s say you and I have a few shots?” “Ohhhhh.” Carl seemed excited while Nick leaned over and Gabi watched curiously. “You gunna take that challenge bro?” Nick asked.

Take the challenge?
