Keep it simple

Spencer and Evelyn went to the living room, who then asked Amy "So what are you watching?"

"One of those true life **** mystery shows."

"Is it one of those with porno grade acting?" Evelyn said.

"Yeah."

Spencer's jaw became agape, not sure whose remarks he should be more shocked at, whilst Evelyn did her best to contain her laughter. "Sorry, shouldn't have said that."

"Do you wanna watch?"

"Sure."

"Well, does anyone want a drink?"

"I wouldn't mind a coffee." Evelyn said.

"I'm right Dad."

Spencer came back with two coffees, and sat next to Evelyn, as Amy asked "So do you investigate murders at all?"

"Oh not really, I just find the bodies."

"You shouldn't ask those kind of things Amy." Spencer interjected.

"Sorry Dad."

"It's okay," Evelyn added. "Nothing wrong with a curious mind."

"Are your boys as interested in your work?" Spencer asked.

"No they wanna be Marines like their dad. Boys will be boys."

The three continued to watch the show, as Evelyn put her arm around Spencer. As much as she enjoyed an active lifestyle, she found a simple day relaxing with Spencer and his daughter rather peaceful. Between her job, her workout regime, and shared custody with her ex-husband, she rarely got the time to just kick back and enjoy the simpler things in life. In that moment she started to picture a new life living at Spencer's, with plenty of room for their kids to play, a beautiful house to come back to, and a loving partner to hold in her arms.
