Buffy meets Anya

"Hey, I know you," said Buffy.

"You do?" asked Anya.

"You're Cordelia's friend," said Buffy. "You were there the day this whole thing started. You even lent me your sweater -- for what little good it did me."

"That's right," said Anya with an awkward smile. "I was there that day and I always felt bad I didn't do more."

"Why should you feel bad?" asked Buffy. "It's not like you're the one who caused this problem. And at least you don't stare at me like -- you know -- some people."

She glared at Wesley as she said that last sentence and since Wesley just ignored her as if she had said nothing, Giles loudly cleared his throat and said in a soft but firm tone, "For God's sake, man, just look over this way for a change. A good Watcher should at least try to act like a gentleman."

Wesley just blinked and hastily averted his eyes. "Sorry. So it is all set. The plan, that is. We all meet here a month from now two hours before the prom and then --"

"Why wait till then?" asked Buffy. "Why not test the device now and see if it works?"

"Because items like this can be tricky, Miss Summers, and first we have to researc --'

"I've seen the results of your 'research', Wesley, and so far I'm unimpressed. I say we test it now."

"But it's so soon."

"It doesn't have to be permanent," said Buffy. "If it works, we can just reverse the process and if it doesn't, it's better if we know now."

"You just want to see me naked," joked Anya.

"Actually I just want to be able to put on clothes," said Buffy. "Even if it's just for five minutes."

Just then Willow arrived. "Hey, gang," she said. "What's new?"

Anya held up the Draconian Katra. "Buffy wants to test this artifact we were talking about."

"Right now?" asked Willow. "Gimme me that."

"Wait, Willow," said Buffy. "I want to test it first."

As all three women touched the artifact at the same time, there was a flash of light, a sound of thunder, and then ...

"Oops!" someone said.

The artifact dropped to the ground, only to be accidentally knocked aside by Buffy's foot. Meanwhile, Willow started moaning, " Oh God! What's happening? I'm seeing my own naked body in front of me and yet I'm still feeling the curse! I'M STILL FEELING THE CURSE!"

Anya just stood there and blinked while Willow hastily stripped off her clothing, suffering too much from the pain of the curse to care right then who saw what body part. Meanwhile, the woman in Buffy's body was just as hastily dressing up in Willow's discarded clothes.

"What am I supposed to do, Rupert?" asked Wesley.

Giles just frowned. "Retrieve the artifact and reverse the spell, of course."

Both men rushed to retrieve the artifact but they were no match for the speed of a Slayer. With one foul swoop, the woman in Buffy's body picked up the Draconian Katra -- and swallowed it.

Then she just smirked and ran off.

Anya sighed. "Well, that didn't go well, did it?"
