The lady who had checked Buffy's I.D. directed her to the dressing room where she met a middle-aged redhead who called herself "the house mom." The house mom then showed Buffy a locker where she could store her regular clothes after she had changed into her stripper outfit.

"I don't have an outfit," said Buffy as she ignored the part of her mind that was still whimpering. "I just have my regular clothes."

"Well, I suppose that will do for now," said the house mom. "However, if you pass the audition, you might wanna invest in something more unique."

"Oh, I'll pass," said Buffy, all the while ignoring a voice in her head that kept saying, "Please don't do this! Please don't do this! Please don't do this! Please don't do this! Please don't do this!"

She shoved the voice back into the darkest part of her mind and proceeded to strip down to her underwear, placing her outer clothing into the locker as suggested. She was wearing the red lingerie tonight. The kind that Angel used to like. Why she had thought to wear it while she went out on patrol, she had no idea but she was wearing it right then.

But she wouldn't be wearing it for long, she thought, as she heard the club D.J. call out the name she had given the house mom.

That's my cue, thought Buffy. Or better yet, that was "Anne"'s cue.
