Mr. Hawkfeather's arrival

The knock on the outer office door cuts through the room, seeming so much louder than it likely actually is and making your entire body tense up. Now completely back in the realm of the living once more, you very quickly, in a fraction of a second, take stock of yourself, naughty book in one hand and your breast cradled in another. Pulling the hand off yourself, as if your fingers had been burnt you drop the book and quickly buttons your blazer back up.

"Ms. Naylor, are you in here?" a male voice rings out from outside as you scramble to make yourself presentable.

Pushing the chair back and straightening out your clothes, you pull a drawer open and push the book into it before making the way to the door. Pushing open the door to the outer office you pause as you take in the man who interrupted you, seeing a blond-haired man, dressed in worn blue shirt and a pair of faded jeans. A sense of annoyance replaces your feeling of surprise and worry of getting caught in a compromising situation, as you see this workman being the source of the interruption.

"The custodial offices are in the rear building, they are plainly -" you begin to explain this man.

"Ms. Naylor, My name is Kyle Hawkfeather, we have an appointment," he interrupts you, startling you and making you glance at the clock.

More time has passed than you had realized and the time matches with the scheduled arrival of the new dean of students, so you guess this man is it. Even if he, judging by his clothes, doesn’t seem to understand the role and the history of this school.

"You're punctual, Mr. Hawkfeather, but hardly dressed for a good first impression," you greet him pointedly and invite him into the office with a wave of the hand, leading the way inside.

"No Ma'am, I thought it best to come straight here,” he explains with an attempted disarming smile, “My good clothes are still in my bag."

You hear him as you move behind your desk, seeing his smile grow as he stands there, just inside the office, and you consider postponing this meeting until he has redressed to something more suitable for a man about to take on the role he was.
