The long way.

You have no interest in dealing with whatever sort of creatures actually guard hell or the abyss or wherever you actually are and decide you are in no real hurry and skip the portal. What follows is a solid week or more of flying in your bat wing disguise for as long as you can, finding something that isn’t completely disgusting to eat, then finding a place where you can hide, change back to your new normal hairless self, and get some rest. In time you find you don’t even have to change back before you sleep, which makes things a bit easier. Finally you spot something new, a massive ancient structure that looks like the largest prison ever constructed. “Holy fuck.” You say with a gasp. The building seems to stretch from horizon to horizon in every direction. No matter how high you fly all you can see is it. “How the fuck do I get past that?” Then it dawns on you, there must be a way, you just have to concentrate on the gem, it led you here after all.

It is so hard to focus, all you want to do is eat and sleep. “What is going on?” You land and slip back into your human disguise. This proves to be harder than expected , almost as if you had forgotten what it looked like exactly. In fact standing there feeling yourself over you aren’t exactly sure if you got it right. You would need a mirror to be sure, but something just seems odd. Still, once out of demon form you are able to concentrate and the gem tells you where to go. It would seem even in this impossible looking area you have options. A rather straightforward way would be to simply shrink as small as you can and fly higher and higher till you can pass over it. The second is a sewage pipe that leads to a system of canals that run under the complex, they are sealed and guarded from getting inside, but not from simply passing under. You also have a feeling it might be possible to buy your way across, but the three orbs of power you got from the demon are all you really have to trade.
