Committing to a Change

Alex couldn't believe his eyes. The change that had come over the man happened so quickly. By the time he walked from one side of the pump to the other, his clothes, his hair, his whole body was changed from that of a big, burly man to a blonde, scantily clad young woman. She might have been sexiest woman Alex had ever seen, something straight out of a wet dream. Large breasts, thin waist, hungry eyes, she couldn't have been more than nineteen years old. In a reality where things still made sense, there would be no reason for a woman like that to speak to Alex, none at all for her to approach him the way she was. The truck behind the newly transformed woman vanished, as if it had never been there. Whatever was changing the universe around Alex wasn't messing around, and it seemed to be increasing in intensity. The changes to Jeffery had taken time, but this was almost instantaneous.

Maybe it was that he was still feeling sexually stimulated by his encounter with Tina at dinner, maybe it was the nature of the new reality he found himself in, but Alex's eyes climbed up and down the woman's body hungrily. In his old life Alex would have never considered the proposal coming from this young, extremely attractive woman, but now that his life had been changed so very much, his moral compass was unsure as to how to proceed. If he went home to his family, they were doomed to become his sexual playthings, even his children. If he decided to leave, to start a new life, to commit to something else, maybe things back home would return to normal. Maybe they could have a fresh start themselves.

"What was your name again?" Alex asked.

"Petunia," she cooed, "but my friends call me Pete."

"Well Pete," Alex said with a smile, "Let's be friends. Where do you want to go?"

Alex didn't know it, but the crack in reality was still following him, adjusting, re-tuning, warping reality all around him. When he decided not to return home, it was as if a large stone was removed from a pond. Reality adjusted like water rushing in, filling the void, creating something new out of what was left over.
