Lauren and Wes’s Mischief

Wondering what is going on Lauren stares at her mother for several moments before noticing the telltale distortion in the air around her neck that was viewable only from the side.

Realizing what the distortion in the air meant Lauren thought to herself:

Wes...

Unaware that she was completely naked and barefoot in the section of the Mutant Underground HQ that served as their cafeteria Caitlin didn't notice that everyone was staring at her strangely.

Feeling that she needed to talk to Wes about this little prank of his Lauren told her mother she would see her later and headed over to where Wes was standing in the corner of the room and said :

Are you insane Wes? My mom is going to go ballistic when she realizes that she is walking around completely naked.

To which Wes replies to Lauren while obviously still focusing on keeping the illusion going :

It's pretty funny though right Lauren?

Upon hearing Wes’s question Lauren surprises herself by giving Wes’s question serious thought for a few seconds before giggling though due to not wanting to attract any attention to herself and Wes Lauren covers her mouth with one hand to hide her laughter.

As Lauren tries to stop giggling she thinks to herself :

God, things have been so stressful since we got here, what was the harm in a little mischief?

As all these thoughts run through Lauren's mind she answers Wes :

Honestly, Wes yeah, I have to admit that it is pretty funny.

To which Wes replies :

I'm glad you're not upset with me.

Followed by Wes jokingly saying :

You know, I just had another idea, Lauren. If you were willing to you could remove your own clothes and walk around naked.

And only you and I would know. As I could make it look like you were fully dressed. Doesn't that sound exciting?

Realizing that Wes is joking Lauren rolls her eyes and says :

Yeah, I bet you would like that.

Although as Lauren thinks about it she realizes that part of her really does wonder what it would be like to walk around completely naked.

Especially since prior to having to go on the run with her family Lauren's mutation was not the only secret she had been keeping from them. As she had another secret that she had been keeping from the rest of her family from before she first realized that she was a mutant.

And that secret was that whenever she had the house to herself she liked to hang out naked though she had always made sure to keep her robe nearby in case her parents or little brother came home early.

And though there had been a few close calls where she was almost discovered by her parents or Andy she had always managed to get her robe back on in time to prevent them from discovering her doing something like watching TV or reading in the nude in their living room.

So upon hearing Wes’s joking suggestion that she could walk around naked and only they would know Lauren is surprised to realize that one of the things that she misses most about her new life as a fugitive is that she has not been able to have any privacy to indulge in the freedom of just being naked and carefree.

Realizing that Wes could help her with that Lauren gives it serious thought for a few minutes before saying :
