The tavern

You and a couple of servants head out to a tavern where you meet with your best friend, Marcus. Marcus' father was a soldier, a Pilus prior, the most senior centurion of his cohort and in charge of it. He trained him when he was younger, he grew up around soldiers and knew where you could find some in need of a job.

When you get there you order a servant to go get you a cup of wine while you sit down with Marcus. "I have news" you say "I am to manage a new brothel that my father is opening in Ostia." Marcus smiles congratulates you "thats great, you're going to have an opportunity to fill you pockets with coin, i wish i was that lucky, you're going to spend your life surrounded by beautiful women and I will probably have to enlist in the army, spending my whole life marching and getting yelled at" he sips his drink and before he could start talking again you tell him "thats why I'm here for, I want to hire some men who can protect the brothel from rivals, among other things, i though you could hire these men for me and after that be my right hand in Ostia, after all you're one of the few people I trust" Marcus looks at you in the eyes and smiles, " I can do that, I know i few men that don't ask questions, how many do you need?", "20 should do for now" you answer him.

"I'm leaving in 3 days, I'll meet you and the men at the city gates at noon". You finish your drink and walk out of the tavern heading to the market.
