Val takes the lead at Loretta's farm.

Val drives you back to the farm and parks along the road, beside the empty driveway. Scanning the landscape, you see movement near the barn. Two figures walking side by side.

"That's them!" Val exclaims. She can't keep the excitement out of her voice. "I don't see her daddy's truck, either. He must've gone into town for something."

"Never going to get a better window," you note. "How do you think we should play this?"

"Mmm..." Val has a mischievous look in her eye. "I have an idea. Follow my lead." She gets out of the car, and you follow.

You and Val approach the barn. When you're closer to the two girls, Val waves.

"Hey Loretta! Hey Connie!"

"Hey Val!" Loretta says, waving back. Connie, a busty redhead, sets down a bundle of hay and waves as well.

"Loretta, you got a minute?" Val asks.

"Sure," she replies. "Hi, Mr. Doe! Everything okay with your car?"

"It's in the shop now," you say. "Val here was kind enough to take real good care of me."

"Ain't Val the best?" Connie says.

"Oh yeah," you answer, grinning wolfishly. "She really is."

"John thinks he left something in your house the other night," Val tells Loretta. "I gave him a ride over so he could take a look."

"Oh sure," Loretta answers. "I'll let you in. Daddy won't be home for a few hours."

"Perfect," Val smiles.
