Didn't bring any make up

"I don't own any makeup," you reply.

"Where are you from, girl?" she asks, "Were you raised by apes? Nevermind, I can give you what you need, but it'll cost him extra."

She spends the next half hour teaching you how to apply simple makeup. After applying a foundation, she chooses some eye shadow that really brings out the blue of your eyes, a fairly restrained pink lipstick, and some mascara to thicken your lashes. You flub it a few times, forcing her to wipe off your mistakes, but eventually you get the hang of the basics.

When you finally finish and pull back to look at the full you, you're amazed by the result. The girl looking back at you from the mirror could easily be gracing the pages of a fashion magazine. You crack a smile and so does the girl, and if anything she just gets that much more beautiful. You can't believe that that enchanting woman is you, and you wonder just what you might be able to get away with, looking like this.

You hear the bells on the door as it opens behind you, and you turn to see Li returning.

He takes a few step in and then stops suddenly, staring at you.

"Mrs. Wong, you have done well," he says slowly, "very well."

You wait as he pays Wong for her work and then leave the shop for his car clutching a portable makeup kit in your hand.
