Chapter 10

How does Leah help Sadie
A friendly ear
Back to Sadie's POV:
Sereena really outdid herself with the sundaes she made for us. The ice cream is strawberry and it is topped with hot fudge sauce, marshmallow sauce, walnuts, pineapple, and cherries. I am so lucky to have a friend as nice as Sereena living in the apartment with me especially when I am going through a trying time. The taste of the ice cream is really helping to soothe the stress that I endured because of the nightmare that I had about Leah's ex Camilla. Of course, that is not the only reason for my stress. I look at the black mark around my roommate's right eye and I remember that my bad dream took control of my body and caused me to punch one of my best friends.
"Sereena, I don't know what I would do without you," I praised my friend.
"It's my pleasure," Sereena acknowledged with a smile while patting my shoulder.
"It is times like this that remind me that your character is a lot more complex than some people might think," I mused.
"How do you figure?" Sereena pressed.
"You are always out there going after what you want," I reasoned. "It's just that some people might think..."
"That I'm pushy?" Sereena guessed.
"Not that I would ever think that!" I quickly clarified.
"It's okay," my friend accepted. "I have heard it before."
"It is during a trying time like this when people find out how caring you are," I finished.
"I can handle the mushy stuff when my friends really need it," Sereena spoke while shrugging her shoulders.
I sit back in my chair and enjoy the rest of my ice cream. The coldness of it soothes my troubled mind. Just being in the presence of my friend Sereena helps me even more than the ice cream. I really would be in a mess right now if she weren't my roommate. The doorbell rang just as I finished my last bite of ice cream. I had no idea how much my life was about to improve.
"Why don't you get that?" Sereena asked with a sly smile which told me that she was up to something.
"You are closer to the door than I am, but okay," I complained as I reluctantly got up from the couch.
"You'll see why I wanted you to get the door in a few seconds," Sereena hedged while giggling.
"Okay..." I sighed while giving my friend a suspicious look. I just hope that she is not going crazy. I would hate to live in this apartment alone.
I always look through the peephole before answering the doorbell to be safe. This is a good way that I can protect myself from strangers. When I did it this time, I got a very nice surprise. I see my beautiful girlfriend and business partner Leah waiting for me. I quickly opened the door and hugged her on the spot. I guess that I hugged her a little harder than I usually have done because of my nightmare since she grunted a little. Even though I caused my darling a little bit of discomfort, she didn't complain at all.
"Are you going to invite me inside or are we going to stand in the hallway all day?" Leah wondered.
I blushed a little because of my momentary loss of control and I stood aside to let Leah in. I had a good idea what Sereena was planning when I saw her face upon reentering my apartment.
"Surprise!" Sereena cheered.
"I guess this means that you had something to do with this," I accused my wild friend.
"Sereena asked me to come over because she was worried about you," Leah explained while touching my left shoulder.
"Thanks," I acknowledged while hugging my roommate. "I really appreciate this."
"Friends have to stick together," Sereena clarified.
"I'll go along with that," I agreed with a smile.
"I bet Leah can take it from here so I'll go for a walk so you can have some privacy for a couple of hours," Sereena mentioned.
"You are a real class act, Sereena," Leah complimented with a smile.
"Yeah, I know," Sereena giggled while leaving the apartment.
"Your roommate told me that you had a nightmare," Leah spoke while looking at me.
"Yep," I sighed.
"Please tell me about it," my girlfriend pressured.
"I told it to Sereena so I guess that I might as well tell you too," I complained.
"It will be good for you," Leah assured me while patting my right hand.
"Why are none of the things that are good for us easy to take?" I grumbled.
"Andi has asks that question a lot," Leah bubbled while giving me a quick peck on the lips.
I finally agreed to tell my girlfriend about my nightmare even though I have already told it to my roommate. I tell her about Camilla tying me on a chair naked. I tell her about my enemy torturing me with a whip. I even tell her about the idiot wanting to kill me. I throw in the part about me breaking the ropes. I end the story by telling Leah about accidentally punching Sereena in the eye.
"I was wondering why she had a black eye," Leah mused. "Maybe you should fight professionally."
"Very funny," I sneered.
"There's no need to be upset," Leah assured me. "It was just an accident."
"I guess," I sighed.
"Is there some reason why you are worried about Camilla?" Leah pressed.
"I don't know," I thought out loud. "I am kind of surprised that I had a nightmare about her after I chased her away at the Gala."
"Yeah, that was awesome!" Leah cheered.
"I am glad that you think so."
"I want you to know that I would never leave you for that idiot," Leah assured me while hugging me. "I know a good thing when I have it. Besides, Andi would kill me if I traded you in for that shrew. She positively adores you."
"I'm glad to hear it," I responded with a wide grin.
"Although I find it hard to understand why Andi asked you to help her get ready for the Gala and not me," Leah pondered.
"I can understand why she came to me," I debated. "She probably came to me because she wasn't as close to me. There were times growing up when when I was embarrassed to ask my parents to help me solve a problem so I took it to one of my friends or the guidance counselor."
"Good point," Leah gave in.
I eventually got tired of talking to my girlfriend. I started to have needs that only my girlfriend could satisfy. The need became so great that my heart and breathing rate increased. I think that I was even started to sweat a little. I think that Leah must have noticed it because she licked her lower lip.
"Is there anything else that I can do to help you out with your problem?" Leah asked with a leer.
"Oh, I can think of a few things that you can do," I hinted while getting up and slowly stalking her.
What does Leah do now?
