What happens?
Getting Sarah out of there
Ted and Aaron walked down the hall, stopping before the door. Aaron felt Ted’s hand on the small of his back as he hesitated. Aaron paused and turned to Ted. “Ted, I appreciate you getting me here. But can you give me just a few minutes alone with Sarah? Just some.... mother daughter time to find out what’s going on.”
Ted smiled. “Of course, Erin. I’m here for you. Just let me know what you need. I’ll wait outside until you call me in or you’re ready to leave.”
Aaron smiled at Ted, knocked softly on the door, and opened it a crack. “Sarah, your... mother is here.” He opened the door and walked in to the interrogation room.
Sarah ran over and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. “I’m so sorry! I never meant this to go....”
Aaron angrily whispered into her ear. “I’m your *mother* this evening. I could be in a world of hurt otherwise. We’re going to have a long, LONG talk when we get home.”
“Ok... mom,” Sarah said, sheepishly. She knew the joke had made a left turn and was now at her father’s mercy.
“Once the three of us get you out of here...”
“Three?” Sarah asked. “You mean...”
“Sadly. He’s waiting outside.”
“Ordinarily that would make him a keeper... mom.”
“Don’t,” Aaron said, sharply. “ Just.... don’t”
He sighed, making Sarah have to stifle a laugh as his fake chest heaved prominently. “Ok, what have you been charged with?” He asked.
“Stalking.... I was taking pictures of you on your date. And felony possession of stolen goods.”
“Well, I’m not going to press charges for the pictures. And I doubt Ted will care. But stolen goods?”
“Your.... my dad’s wallet.”Sarah said sheepishly. “They found it on me when I was seen taking pictures.”
“That’s... not good,” Aaron said. “But, honestly, I don’r see much of a case. They can’t prove you stole the wallet, and I’m not going to press charges or call them saying it was stolen....”
“But they may call... dad in to talk about it. And they’ve already said... he,” she put emphasis on that last word, “has to appear in person to claim it.”
There was a soft knock on the door and Ted opened it slightly. “Girls? They’ve set bail. $1000. If we pay it, we can get out of here.”
Aaron looked dejectedly in the small purse he had. No wallet. No ATM card. No credit cards. “Sarah, do you...”
“Nope. Not on me right now. And I don’t think they’ll allow me to retrieve my purse to get anything until I’m out on bail.”
“Not to worry, honey,” Ted said. “I’ve got this. You can make it up to me later,” he said with a grin as he put his arm around Erin’s waist and pulled him close, his hand, once again, resting on Aaron’s ass
Aaron cringed.
