You finish your meal and then speak up, "That was the most amazing thing I have ever eaten. What is it?"
She answers dully, "They made them back where I grew up the call them bear claws. I learned to make them myself since I missed them so much... They..." She bunches up her face as if trying not to cry.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." You say scooting closer to her and wrapping you right arm around her shoulders. She responds by bursting into a full on sob and presses her face into your chest. After a while she starts to calm down.
"They remind me of my family. I lost them in the hurricane 10 years ago. When I learned that..." Her gaze stops on you or the mysterious tower behind you, you're not sure which. "Anyway, the Academy has given me something to live for. Thank you for sharing this meal with me. But you really should run along now." Looking at the time, you only have about 20 minutes left.
