You hastily rush forward and yell "Your Grace, look out!"
"Hmmm?" Renly says, surprised by your outburst. By now, the black entity is almost upon him. It seems to form what looks like a blade. It means to plunge this blade into Renly's back.
You roughly shove Renly out of harm's way. He falls to the ground just before the black entity can stab him. The entity DOES manage to inflict harm onto you, though. Its blade grazes your side. Although the blade appears to be made of shadow, the sharpness is quite real. So is the pain. But you pay no mind to the pain.
The entity does not attack you again. Instead, it turns away from you, and it moves towards Renly again. Lady Brienne draws her sword and slashes at the entity, but her blade goes right through it. She fails to impede or stop it in any way. Evidently, steel is ineffective against a shadow.
You frantically wonder what WILL harm this entity. Then you realize... if it IS made of shadow, shouldn't light work against it?
You run over to the nearest torch, pull it out of its sconce, and rush back over to the entity, which is about to attack Renly again. You raise the torch and plunge it into the entity's center. The effect is immediate; the entity lets out a high-pitched shriek and begins to dispel. Once it has dispelled completely, it emits a ****. The **** is so strong that it throws you off your feet. You hit your head when you land on the ground, and despite your attempts to remain conscious, you quickly pass out.
Where are you when you regain consciousness, and who is with you?
