Nornover — Your Sister is in Control

"This is... this is a jest!" You finally manage to say after being rendered speechless by the news given to you. Once again, you, Camilla, Dietrich, Gunther and Benjamin are in the council room.

"It is no jest, my King." Dietrich affirms. "There was an uprising led by a local lord in Nornover in an attempt to overthrow Duke Dolphus. The rebels were fortunately put down, not by the Duke, but by the men tasked with the safety of your sister. Unfortunately the Duke himself was butchered by the commonfolk who joined the revolt. Your sister's men took charge of the remaining forces loyal to the Duke and the Almighty was kind enough to bless them with luck."

"Yes," you sigh. Any other man would have buried his head in his hands in frustration. But you will not show weakness, not especially to the men in the room with you. "That is all the matters most."

"But what of Duke Dolphus's son and the rest of Nornover?" asks Camilla.

"As we speak, his grace's sister is in charge of the capital of Nornover while her men keep the peace. However the realm is still in a precarious state. Duke Dolphus's son is seen as weak at worse and unloved at best. The boy doesn't care either way. But Princess Elizabeth however is not keen on losing what could potentially be hers." Dietrich explains.

"Which is what will cause a clash with the other local Lords who which to fill in the power vacuum in Nornover's capital." Gunther finishes.

"That is correct." Benjamin confirms. "My King, this is the opportunity we need. If what King Franz Karl said is true, he will not intervene should we intervene in the matters of Nornover."

"But we shall need to act fast." Gunther recommends. "The number of men your sister has to hold the capital will not be enough and their supplies will not last for long. Not mention the risk of the commonfolk rebelling and surrendering the city. This will mean war, my King."

Dietrich then asks, "What is your decision, my King? Shall we add Nornover to the Kingdom and render once again current maps useless."

You look at the three men and sigh with a smile, "Gentlemen, we have work to do. Nornover will be a part of a greater Ostgrenze." Dietrich, Gunther and Benjamin smile in what could be excitement.
