A New Spell is Chosen

Magic doesn't just happen. It takes preparation. It takes concentration. Jill had been a practitioner for years. She knew that you couldn't just pick an outcome and it would happen. This wasn't science. With magic there was an element chaos that had to be taken account for. You might want one thing to happen, but you might only get part of what you wanted, or you might get all of what you wanted, but with dire consequences.

Like Amanda.

Jill's heart ached as she remembered Amanda's rejection. The spell she had worked, the manipulation of her son, had been for two reasons. The recapturing of her youth, if Jill was honest with herself, had been only part of it. It had been for Amanda. She wanted Amanda, she wanted their relationship to be out in the open. With her son's body, the body that Jill now inhabited, they could have made it happen. If only the chaos in the spell hadn't shifted reality the way it did.

Flipping through her spell book, Jill considered spell after spell. Too much risk on one, too little reward on another. Should she try a love spell? Should she try to adjust reality again? When she was done, would she be better off, or in worse shape?

Then she saw it. An attraction transfer spell. It was perfect. Again, she could take from her son, her son who now inhabited Jill's old body. Any attraction that Amanda would have felt toward Jill's old body could be transferred to Jill's new body. It would solve so many problems. Even the chaotic element was mitigated. The only way that chaos would alter the spell, give her unexpected consequences and results, would be if a large amount of sexual energy had been spent by one of the parties. Jill looked at the clock. Alan had only wore her skin for a couple hours. There was just no way that he could have spent enough sexual energy to create a problem.

Everything would be perfect.
