Jessica hoped that during the late morning it was (long before noon), at least the centre wouldn't be packed. She walked to the end of the fence to her right and scampered on the sidewalk until she arrived at the entrance. She took a small breather while hiding herself behind the plaza sign (which, thankfully, lay low to the ground).
She peeked around the sign and saw the parking lot was around a third of the way filled. Her best option was to run straight through, all the way to the recreation centre waiting on the other side. She was too nervous to move on until a car which took notice of her exposed rear gave her a loud honk.
Jessica went for the mad dash in the most exhilarating run of her life. She didn't bother stopping behind each car to ensure maximum coverage. She was noticed by a couple of people. Most were dismissive or showed disgust for her actions. Some of the guys enjoyed her show very much, urging her to run on.
When she finally reached the glass sides of the rec centre, she was left panting. As she took a break, she was relieved that her journey was almost over; after this, she just needed to cross two streets and she should find her neighboorhood.
