Does Kenny Agree To Drive Zoey?
To Keep The Peace, He Agrees
Kenny let out a small cough and rubbed the back of his neck, with all eyes on him, it was making things very awkward and nerve-wracking, he could tell that a few of them were expecting him to say no, while the other group was just waiting for the yes. He wasn't sure if it'd be the best idea to literally put himself in the middle of Zoey's fight with her ex-boyfriend, who just happened to be an old friend of Kenny's. Not to mention what Nicole would think about all this, last time he spent too much time with another girl she flipped out, fucked Brian and told him that he meant nothing to her.
"Please?" Zoey soft voice finally begged making the teen's brown eyes to lock solely on hers. He pursed his lips together, instantly feeling himself break at the sight of her needful look. Zoey was having a tough time last night thinking about this moment with Eric, and seeing it all play out, Kenny knew that she could seriously use a friend right now.
"Sure..." Kenny finally nodded before looking back down at the counter, making sure to miss the obvious poison dagger look that Nicole would be sending his way, "When did you want to go?"
"As soon as possible," Zoey replied with a breath of relief,
Eric looked between Kenny and Zoey a few more times; he was surprised that Zoey had apparently formed such a close friendship with the teen this quickly. They were strangers the other day, and now they were on the level of emotional support? It seemed off, and now the only thing Eric could think was, something must have happened when they were stuck outside in the storm last night. "Well good, that's settled then," Brian stated with a clap of his hands, "How about we all move along now, you know, the show's over...you don't have to go home, but you just have to go," He joked causing Mindy to let out a soft, breathy laugh.
The group slowly started to disperse; Anna pulled Eric upstairs to their room as she was immediately able to tell that he was very upset about everything that had happened. Nicole stormed towards the rec room, with a curious Rachel following the girl. Brian followed Kailyn towards the library to speak to her about their little accident the other day, and Mindy ended up with JJ in the den, both friends quietly talking about everything that had just transpired. This left Kenny and Zoey alone in the kitchen, where the redhead let out a sobbing cry, letting her body fall forward, collapsing against the counter.
"Oh, Zoey, hell...are you okay?" Kenny gently asked while getting out of his seat and putting an arm around the weeping girl,
"This sucks, Kenny," Zoey whimpered back before turning and throwing her arms around the teens, "This fucking sucks!" She cried out into his shoulder once more. Kenny let out a slow exhale and brought a hand to the girls back, slowly rubbing it up and down as she cried out all the bottled up emotion she had been saving since she returned to the lodge. The only reason she felt somewhat in control, somehow able to come back from this pain, was because of Kenny. The teen did exactly what she needed him to do...just be there on her side, comforting her through this.
"It's gonna be okay, Zoey," Kenny softly said as he moved another hand to her wet hair, petting it a few slow times. "You'll get past this, I promise," Zoey's tears were beginning to slow down but her grip was tightening, and Kenny soon found her face buried in his neck, letting out a few shallow breaths as listened to him. "And no...I don't think you're in the wrong," He tacked on causing the girl to finally let out a small sigh, her body starting to calm, though she never once tried to pull away. Kenny rolled his lips in and began to feel a little unsure and awkward in himself; he wasn't sure if Zoey was waiting for him to break away first or if he was maybe pushing things a little too far. "S-So...uh, you ready to go?"
"Yes," Zoey muffled voice replied, though her face remained pressing into Kenny's shoulder, "Are you?"
"Sure," He nodded before the pair were quiet again, merely embracing in the lodge kitchen. "Zoey..."
"Hmm?" Zoey obliviously hummed back,
"We, uh...can't exactly go anywhere by staying here in the kitchen," Kenny said with a breathy laugh,
Zoey quickly pulled away from Kenny, her cheeks turning rosy and her bright blue eyes looking everywhere besides Kenny, "R-Right...of course, I'll just...go get my boots and jacket then we could...uh, yeah, then we can go,"
"Okay...sure, I'll do the same," Kenny nodded before they both stepped forward, almost crashing into one another. They shared an awkward laugh before working their way around once another leaving through separate exits, both their hearts beating a little faster than usual.
Kenny moved towards the front door to gather his things while Zoey scampered back up the stairs to the bathroom where her jacket and boots still remained. As Kenny got suited up, he luckily had a silent moment to think, finding that driving with Zoey could be a good thing. Along the way, he could bring up their little issue and then even stop and get it resolved all in one trip. Although with everything that had just happened, it'd be even more awkward to bring it up. Standing in to support a girl who's dealing with a rough breakup didn't seem like the ideal time to make her panic about also being pregnant with another guys kid. However, ignoring the fact could only make things way worse further down the road.
Before Kenny could make heads or tails of the issue, Zoey returned bundled up in the large puffy coat that Brian loaned to her when she and Eric arrived, "Ready?" She asked with an oddly chipper tone and smile,
"Yeah," Kenny replied unable to not return the smile with one of his own, "Is your house far from here?"
"Not really, about an hour or so," Zoey replied as Kenny opened the door, letting her walk out ahead of him, "I can pay you for the gas you're using though!" She sweetly offered,
"Oh shut up," Kenny chuckled, "You're not paying me for this,"
"I should though, it's sorta fair for me pulling you into this like that," Zoey sheepishly replied,
"I'll take an I.O.U. thank you very much," Kenny easily dismissed as he and Zoey walked down towards the train cart,
As the pair reached the station and stepped onto the cart, Zoey pulled the hood of her jacket down and lightly shook her head, letting her drying hair bounce up, "Well, at least let me say thanks," She warmly said as the doors closed and the car began to move down the mountain. "Thank you, Kenny, you doing all this really means a lot to me,"
"Of course," Kenny simply replied, not feeling like this was much of a big deal at all, "I'm just surprised that you actually wanted to stay at the lodge is all,"
"It's...it's really nice up here," Zoey almost squeaked back as she stepped past Kenny and took a seat, once again unable to look the teen in the eye, "I don't see why I should let Eric wreck my chance to enjoy a good time on a mountain while meeting a bunch of new wonderful people,"
Kenny smirked as he walked over and took a seat next to Zoey, just as with Mindy, Kenny was completely oblivious to Zoey's quick half-glances, "I'll admit that I'm happy to have met you," He happily stated,
"Me too," Zoey warmly agreed before the pair went quiet once more, enjoying the scenery as they train car made the rest of the descent.
Does Kenny Talk About The Pregnancy Issue On The Drive?
