No. We needed to get ready for the next day.

Thanks to the club we were now filthy rich, but for the moment at least still had jobs that we needed to resing from - and both James and Lucy had college the next day. So eventually we persuaded ourselves to take antidote pills, calm ourselves down, and get ready for a dose of normality. Packed lunches were made, bags were packed, alarms were set and we all headed to bed. Sleep came easily after all the travelling and other activities that we'd done that day.

I awoke with my usual boner but there wasn't much opportunity to put it to any use. [wife_name] shot out of bed like a bullet from a gun as soon as the alarm sounded, waking James and Lucy and ushering them to get up and get going. The morning proceded just as any mundane Monday would in our household. The only difference being that [wife_name] and I carried our resignation letters in our bags with us - along with an assortment of other goodies. We had expressly forbidden the kids from taking the blue and pink pills with them to college, in the full expectation and knowledge that they would disobey.

As soon as I got to work I told my boss that I needed a word, and before long I was called in.

The club had already drafted my resignation letter for me, including an offer to pay generously for an early release from my contract. The letter explained that I had recently inherited a large amount of money from a relative but was urgently required to tend to the family businesses they ran, and this could take several years.

I went into my boss's office armed with my letter, a cheque accompanying it, and with a few special pills in my pocket, just in case.
