Unmerge and end the night

“Ok then, let's do this”. Emily starts to concentrate. Not knowing how the process works, she tries to gather her memories, separate them from those of Rebekah, which was not a hard job since they were truly distinct.

She didn’t feel it when Rebekah began to leave their joint body. The head was the first to part, which was soon followed by the neck and shoulders. Emily was falling in slow motion while her sister walked forward. The last part to defuse was the left foot. When they separate, Rebekah loses her balance and almost falls. She quickly recovers and turns to see a sleeping Emily on the ground.

But what caught her attention was the necklace. It was ‘off’ and Rebekah saw this as a chance to get rid of the deal.

She approached. Her mind is working on a million questions: ’What if she wakes up?... Will I manage to grab it before she wakes?... What if she got me in the act? … Will she try to Merge with me again?... Will I be able to take control this time?... Dammit. What is needed to control the fusion?’ She was close now, a palm of distance from the necklace and she probably could catch it.

It was there that she noticed that she was sweating and one drop rolled over her cheek, going to her chin and falling right in the neck of her sleeping sister.

Emily grunt and start to open her eyes.
