What do you do?

Create a Sex Addiction Therapy Group

Recognizing the need for open discussion and mutual accountability among peers, you helpfully create a small group consisting of several members of the college community who are afflicted with sexual compulsion. You also selflessly set yourself up to be the group leader.

You are amazed at how easy it is, and with a few clicks of the keyboard, the group is established, scheduled, and emails have been sent to each person telling them they were required to attend and giving each person your name and contact information as the group leader.

It’s beside the point that you have absolutely no psychological training or expertise as a group leader. Your ideas about how to help the group members is a wee bit unconventional.

As you contemplate how to conduct your first session, your thoughts turn toward one particular member of the group. You wonder if you should reach out to this person in advance, or if you should wait until the group meeting for your first encounter.
