The archaeologists appear to be blending in.

You and the rest of the away team hike a few miles away to get a view of the the village from a hill. Ensign Jacob pulls out a pair of binoculars and scans the village for signs of the men. Although he doesn't know what they look like at the moment, the binoculars are programmed to scan both heat signatures and facial features to identify who is who. The heat signatures are especially valuable if the men are in buildings.

In no time at all, he's identified them. The men are separated from one another, but they are walking about the village without raising any suspicion. That was a bit odd considering they should be unaware of the current status of their ally. You'd think they would be together and possibly held somewhere.

"Mind if I take a look?" You ask the ensign.

"I don't believe it either, sir." He hands you the binoculars.

You look through the lenses and focus on the village. Before you could activate any sort of scan, the image of a giant eel appears in front of you and jumps at you baring all of its teeth. You jump back, throw the binoculars to the ground, and pull out your phaser.
