Explaining The Situation

Mindy and Nicole continued to talk and smoke in their room for nearly thirty minutes, Nicole made teasing remarks about Mindy's story as the Asian girl did her best to explain how it wasn't a porn novel, just a romance one that doesn't shy away from sex. While Nicole never really believed her, thinking that she was using her writing as a good outlook for expressing her sexuality, the redhead was sure that as soon as Mindy had a boyfriend, she'd be done with these types of stories. Even so, Nicole had to admit that she seemed to know how to make some compelling storylines, Nicole almost wanted to laugh, if it was made into a porno, it'd definitely have the best plot of the lot of them.

"There, okay, I'm done with telling you about this, the rest is too...detailed." Mindy firmly stated while closing her laptop, "Satisfied?"

"Uh, no," Nicole grinned back, "I didn't get to hear the porn stuff,"

"Stop calling it that!" Mindy exclaimed while turning red once more, "It's not a fucking porn story!"

"Fine, whatever you call it then, the...romantic sex scenes," Nicole sarcastically corrected, "I want to know how you write them, I'm something of an expert on sex, so I could let you know if you're writing them wrong."

"A sex expert, really?" Mindy dryly replied causing Nicole to burst out laughing,

"What?! That's a fair thing to say, I've had a bunch of it!" She childishly giggled back, "Ask Ken; he learned a lot in just one day with me,"

Mindy's lips slightly frowned, "Well, I already had sex with him too so I can write from experience,"

"A drunk fuck? Come on, that's nowhere near as good as a sober one." Nicole denied, "When it's just you and the other person, both one hundred percent aware, focused on nothing but each other and getting off...god, nothing is better than that,"

"Why are you single?" Mindy suddenly asked,

"Huh? What the fuck are you talking about?" Nicole replied with a raised brow,

"I just don't get it, you have all this sex with people, and sure I get that it's fun and all but that's all it is, just sex. All I've ever wanted was to date Kenny, to be with him every day and be his girl. Have him hold me at night, kiss me in the morning...tell me he loves me, that's it. Do you not want that?" Mindy asked with a very intent look,

Nicole's eyes slightly widened, "Uh...I, ahem," Nicole quickly cleared her throat, "Of course I'd want that, but I'm still young and...I guess I've never met a guy like that."

"Have you ever just been friends with one before?" Mindy asked, continuing to prod Nicole,

"Sure, I have lots of guy friends, JJ, Brian, Kenny...well, I suppose Kenny doesn't count just as a friend now," Nicole thought aloud,

"No, sure you're friends with them, but I mean like a serious friend. Like a friendship equal to the one you have with Anna," Mindy explained,

"No." Nicole simply replied, "Anna's my best friend, I never needed another one like her, she's more than enough."

"Sure, but if-" Mindy tried to continue before they both heard the ski lodge door nearly crash open. The girls jumped from the couch and walked towards the bedroom door, "What the fuck was that?"

"I think someone's inside the lodge," Nicole whispered back, "I thought the other's were gone all day,"

"That's what they said, I mean, it's been a good few hours, but this is still early for them to come back," Mindy replied as Nicole quickly looked around the room, she opened up the closet and after a moment emerged with a wooden shelf board, "What the fuck is that for?"

"Hey, I'm not letting any random asshole hurt us, I'll break this fucker right over their head," Nicole replied, "C'mon, let's check it out,"

"Put that down. Honestly, it's probably the other's, maybe they came back early," Mindy simply said,

"We'll see," Nicole mumbled back. Not even thinking about dropping her weapon. Mindy sighed and walked over, opening the door allowing them to sneak out. The moved towards the staircase and carefully started to walk down, "I hear them talking,"

"Me too," Mindy whispered back. As the pair reached the halfway point, the lower floor started to come into view, the front door was wide open, and two people stood in front of it. Mindy instantly relaxed as she instantly recognized Brian and Rachel, "Told you," Mindy stated while walking down the rest of the steps, "Hey guys," Mindy called out,

"Where's JJ and Kai?" Brian quickly asked, ignoring Mindy and Nicole's approach,

"They're coming, just relax, Bry," Rachel grunted while taking off her jacket, "God, this is too fucked up,"

"Hey, there was nothing any of us could do. I'm sorry," Brian apologized once again, "But I needed to get you back here, I'm just glad I found you in time,"

"What's going on?" Nicole asked in confusion,

Brian walked over to the door and looked out, spotting JJ and Kailyn still running towards them. Brian, still dressed in his gear, ran out and after another minute returned with JJ and Kailyn, supporting the latter with his arm, "Okay, we're all here,"

"No, we're not all fucking here!" JJ barked out, "We just had to leave-"

"What the fuck is going on!?" Nicole screamed out,

Brian looked back at the redhead and locked on the shelf she was still holding, "Uh, what's that?"

Nicole looked down at the board a shrugged, "It's a weapon for intruders, now answer my fucking question,"

"Seriously, what's wrong?" Mindy agreed,

"Do you not see the storm outside?" Rachel asked while thumbing over to a window, "That's why we're back,"

"Not all of us," JJ indignantly replied,

Mindy's eyes went wide, "Where's Kenny?"

JJ hung his head for a moment while the other's went quiet, "Answer the fucking girl, where the fuck is Kenny!" Nicole barked out, "JJ!"

"I don't know!" JJ exclaimed, "He's still outside with Zoey,"

"Oh my god," Mindy gasped,

"What the fuck do you mean you don't know?" Nicole growled, "You fucks just left him?!"

"We didn't have a choice; we couldn't start searching for him with the storm, we'd have gotten lost!" Brian explained, "I made the call, so if you're gonna be mad at anyone here, be mad at me,"

"Where's Anna," Nicole frowned,

"With Eric," Rachel meekly replied,

"Oh thanks, that's helpful, where the fuck is Anna!" Nicole shouted, though her voice had a small quiver in it, "Where's my friend?"

"At a fire tower, we couldn't get to them either, but they'll be-" Brian tried to say only for Nicole to drop her shelf and slap Brian across the face, a loud smack echoed throughout the lodge,

"You left her too! You left four fucking people out there, you fucking asshole!" Nicole screamed out while Mindy quickly ran over and pulled Nicole back, "They're your fucking friends! You don't even know if they'll be alright! They could be fucking dead by morning!"

JJ let out a slow exhale, cupping his hands around his face while Kailyn gently put a hand on his shoulder, "We don't know that for sure, Brian made sure we all packed gear in case of this situation,"

"Fuck that!" Nicole screamed back, "They can't be outside,"

"Nicole, calm down, hey, just take a breath," Mindy soothingly said, while stepping in front of the panicked teen,

"No, Mindy, they can't be outside. Anna and Kenny can't be out in this fucking storm. T-They don't know what they are and what to d-do," Nicole's shaky voice replied before she suddenly burst into tears, "Oh god!"

"Just relax, everything is going to be okay," Mindy softly reassured, pulling Nicole into a small hug, "It's going to be fine," Mindy said more to herself this time, though the small pit of worry in her stomach didn't fade,

"I-I'm going out there," Nicole stated while pushing away from Mindy, "I'm gonna go look for them," She said while wiping her eyes,

"No, Nicole, you can't go out there," Brian quickly interjected while the girl tried to grab her coat from the rack,

"The hell I can't!" Nicole shot back, "I need to go find them!"

"You will get lost, and then you will be out there too, what we all need to do is stay right in here until the storm passes," Brian sternly said before gently pushing Nicole away from the coats, "No one is leaving, okay?!"

"Do you even fucking care that four people could fucking die out there!?" Nicole screamed back,

"Of course I do, they're my friends just as much as they are yours but us getting lost out there won't help a thing. We are all going to wait until the storm passes then I'll call the rangers, and we can search for them, that's what happens, so just fucking deal with it." Brian nearly growled back.

Nicole glared at Brian for a long minute before abruptly turned around and running back upstairs, slamming her bedroom door as she reached it. Brian let out a small exhale of relief, happy enough that he stopped Nicole from doing something stupid. "Let's all get warmed up by the fire," Rachel awkwardly mumbled,

"Yeah, good idea," Kailyn agreed, "Come on, JJ," She said while leading her distraught brother into the den,

Mindy and Brian stood silently in the hallway for a moment, "What?" Brian finally grunted out to the Asian girl,

"I...understand what you had to do," Mindy replied while rubbing her arm, "It really is the best thing to do," She added on, "I just hope they're all okay,"

"Me too," Brian nodded back before heading into the den while Mindy headed upstairs as well.
