Where to next?

To pay a visit to her girlfriend at the police station

Flustered, Waverly decided she needed to visit a friend. She could take her shopping home any time, first though she could do with seeing Nicole.

She wasn’t quite sure where the thought had come from, but it suddenly seemed like the best idea.

The bag slipped out of her hand; she bent over to pick it up again as a car went past, and blushed at what the passengers yelled at her.

She’d been dating Nicole Haught of the local police **** for a while; she’d helped Waverly realise her sexuality. She was wonderful, supportive…

Soon the police station was coming up. Waverly picked up her pace, hurrying inside.

For a moment, her eyes flickered black. She shook off the strange feeling though, just glad she hadn’t exposed herself to anyone else.

“Nicole,” Waverly said, as soon as she saw the redhead. She beamed, day brightening a little more when her girlfriend saw her.

“Waves!” Nicole said. A surprised, delighted expression crossed her face, a cute smile sparked by the sight of Waverly. “What are you doing here? It’s great to see you!”

“Just thought I’d come by,” Waverly said. “Had a… weird day, wanted to see you.”

In a sudden burst of affection, she stepped closer, hugged her girlfriend. She kissed Nicole’s cheek; Nicole quickly pulled away.

“Waverly!” Nicole said. “Not here, not in uniform. You know how it is.”

Right, she did. Waverly flushed slightly; they couldn’t be too physical while Nicole was on duty. Even beyond the homophobes that Purgatory had in abundance, Nicole had to be professional.

Right. She didn’t know what she was thinking. Waverly shook her head.

“R-right,” she said. “Sorry, I got… carried away.”

Nicole breathed a sigh of relief; she was still smiling.

They weren’t alone either; there were plenty of cops on duty. That made it worse. Waverly tried to refocus, remember why she was here.
