Chapter 10 by Imhotep Imhotep

Who is it, and what do they say?

Its Ellen.

Kimmy quickly releases your hand, and you recognize the voice as Ellen‘s. The two of you continue to walk down the hall at the same pace, until Ellen calls out your name once more and then sprints towards you. Turning around to face her, its quite evident what attracted you to her in high school. Still dressed in the snug fitting cheerleading uniform, her breasts bounce and jiggle as she comes towards you. Her hair is disheveled, and a few strands hang in front of her eyes until she brushes them away with her finger.

Kimmy moves close to your side, and you sense that she’s expecting trouble. Glancing briefly over at her, you confirm this by the concern in her eyes. Then you turn your gaze back to Ellen who stands just a few feet away from you and Kimmy. Ellen’s mood is hard to read, although it is evident that she’s been crying. As if steadying herself, she looks down at her feet, and then after a moment or two back up at Kimmy, and then you.

“I see it didn’t take you long to find someone to hook up with.” Ellen says with a sniff, shooting daggers at Kimmy with her eyes.

“It’s not really like that , Ellen. And even if it was, I thought you made it pretty clear you didn’t want to have anything to do with me anymore, isn’t that right? And I’d say you have quite a few friends on campus” You wonder if the inference to the pictures you saw earlier of Ellen engaged in various sex acts with members of the football team was a wise move, but you felt a bit defensive over Ellen’s reaction to Kimmy.

“Scott was telling me about how bad he felt. That joking wasn’t really what he should have been doing.” Kimmy blurted out.

Ellen’s face grew red with anger, and she brought her hands up to her waist, and stood with them resting on her hips. “You told her?” she sputtered.

“I didn’t tell her anything, except we had a fight, and that I said something mean and thoughtless, and you got angry, and punched me, and threw me out of your room. That’s all.”

“He’s really sorry.” Kimmy whispered.

Ellen’s eyes narrowed, and she took a menacing step towards the smaller Japanese American girl, before turning back to face you.

“You know, what I do with my life is my business, and I don’t need anyone to criticize me, or tell me what to do. I mean, I know I made a mistake, and when you tried to take advantage of that I,…..I don’t know,” tears trickled down Ellen’s cheeks, and made dark spots on her sweater as they landed. Up the hallway, Ellen’s roommate, Amy stuck her head out of the doorway, before ducking back in the room.

“You could apologize,” Kimmy said, glancing in your direction, “ and maybe you guys could make up, and still be friends?” She smiled at Ellen, her face filled with hope.

Ellen looks at you, and you catch a glimpse of the perky, niave and happy girl you knew Ellen to be. And then she looks over at Kimmy, and her face grows hard. Rubbing the tears out of her eyes with her hands, and then dropping them to her sides she continues to give Kimmy a dirty look, and you feel Kimmy tense up beside you.

“Here’s what I think,” Ellen begins.

Does Ellen make up with you, or is it all over?
