Chapter 5

Show her the arrow?
Yes
Rebecca looked hard at sister Monica. She looked too sweet to be trying to steal it, but then again, that would be the perfect cover for a thief. She hesitantly handed her the arrow, keeping her hand ready to draw her crossbow as soon as needed. But sister Monica only examined the arrow.
"This arrow was made by a mage...no, many mages of light, wasn't it?"
Everyone was surprised. "Yes..it was." Then, Aktheus became stunned. He didn't know his sweet sister Monica could read magical objects too. Monica continued examining it. "It's very powerful. This arrow could slay nearly anything it strikes."
Sagus spoke, excited. "What about Arakarin?!"
"Arakarin? You aren't going to attack him, are you?" The group nodded. "That's suicide! This arrow is powerful, yes, but it will not slay Arakarin."
Everyone was disappointed, but none more than Rebecca. If the arrow wasn't enough to kill Arakarin, then that meant her mother and all the mages had failed. Sister Monica handed the arrow back, and appologized for giving bad news.
"It's ok...thank you for your help." The group slowly exited the church, and went into a tavern. Rebecca looked like she was on the verge of tears. Everyone tried to cheer her up by getting her her favorite food, and telling her she could have all the beer she wanted, but nothing reached her.
Now what?
