You remember an old prank

With a smile, you remember a trick you were taught as a smart ass kid. You were taught it by some older, even more smart ass kids, and it provided some amusement from time to time. With that thought in your head you walk back to the truck stop complex, walking into the convenience store, nodding at the clerk as you head back to the small produce section.

You're pleased to see they have what you want, and carry a two pound bag of potatoes up to the cashier and pay for it. You take it to your vehicle and drop the bag into the bag seat, opening it and selecting a large potato before locking your car and walking back to Lyndsey's vehicle. Glancing around, you crouch at the back of the car and firmly wedge the potato into the exhaust. Once it's in place you stand up and glance around again before returning to your vehicle. You move it to a parking spot where you can watch the back door of the club and the car at the same time and settle down to wait.
