What happens next?
He stumbles upon a forest convent
Maintaining a slow steady pace in his walking, the sound did the same. Yet he noticed a very peculiar thing: no matter how much closer he got the sound seemed to stay at the same level. By now he was quickly losing sight of the main forest path, but surely there was something worth seeing here?
And pretty soon after pushing through a particularly dense patch of vegetation he had stumbled upon a forest clearing, with a gigantic convent that stood monumentally before him. This took his mind away from the mysterious sound earlier, which incidentally faded altogether now as well.
Compared to the one back home, this one seemed colossal in comparison. It wasn’t nearly as tall as the trees, but the size of it looked like it could have competed with the old legends of massive forts that had been built in foreign lands.
Something in particular stood out: there were absolutely no windows or other openings from what he could see. There was a pretty standard gate at the front which stood well above his own height, but this design seemed quite strange in such a dimly lit area.
There was nothing else to it now. He was certain that this was a convent – the exact same symbol that the one back home used appeared here as well, right on the gate.
