The World of Doctor Who

One of the oldest Science-Fiction Universes, with starts and stops, and beloved. So it is a world of many different people, aliens, and other lifeforms. Connected by an ancient alien with a magical box. Bigger on the Inside, able to travel to any point in time and space.

So a collection of six powerful stones are not impossible. (Or maybe six sides of a powerful cube perhaps?) When those gems or whatever land in the hands of any number of beings in the world, things will change. Cause how powerful are Time Lords against the power of the Time Stone? A TARDIS, a time/space ship, against that stone and the Space Stone.
