Uniform is missing!

Instead of opening my locker to find my uniform like I typically do every day I work, I instead find nothing. My locker is completely empty.

I stare for a minute or so, not sure what to do; when you're so used to doing the same exact thing for years sometimes your mind takes a while to react to a sudden change in routine. Mindy notices me just standing there and asks me what's up. I tell her my uniform is gone.

"Is your mom or dad here? I'd just ask them. Maybe they had someone wash it, or maybe it was a mistake or something." Mindy suggests.

I heed her advice and walk out of the locker room to my parent's office, still wearing my gray tank top and denim shorts. I knock on the door and I hear Mom's voice tell me to come in. Upon entering, Mom looks up from her desk and sees that it's me.

"Oh honey, what is it? Why aren't you in uniform? You should have started your shift by now." Mom asks, without forgetting to nag.

"Well, that's the thing... I opened up my locker just now and it wasn't there. I don't know where it is, last time I saw it was when I was putting it back in." I explain.

This confuses my mom.

"So you don't know where it is?"

I shake my head 'no'.

"Hmmm.... that's strange. Maybe your sister took it home to wash or something. She's the only other person who would have the combo, besides me and your father of course."

"I guess, but isn't that my responsibility? Why would Ashley suddenly decide to wash it for me?"

"I don't know, maybe she just felt like doing something nice? Anyway, we don't really have time to mull over these things, just forget about for now and get to work sweetie." Mom reassures me.

I nod and am about to walk out of the office until it hits me.

"Uh, Mom?" I say, turning back around. "What am I supposed to wear, then?"

"Oh, right, right, yeah. I guess that is important." Mom says as she realizes what the problem is. "Well...
