Making his way back to the Inn of the Prancing Pony

Aragorn took a long look at the shrine, if Gollum had indeed been captured as the voice had said, maybe it could tell him other things not known to many. With that knowledge he could further work to protect the people from the growing shadow. “Leave it Halbarad, there is no one left to worship it anymore, it is powerless.” Aragorn said making his decision.

“Are you sure? The shrine alone holds a great deal of power, maybe we should- “

“I said leave it!” Aragorn said shortly. “Come along Halbarad, we might as well get you a room at the inn, if you’re here to stay.”

“I’m sorry brother, but I must return to our hideout, the others need me there.” Halbarad said sadly.

“I understand. Safe travels brother.” Aragorn said, clasping the ranger’s forearm in a handshake. Aragorn watched as Halbarad made his way back among the trees and to his destination. Aragorn made his own way back to the inn, which had been his home for the time he had been living in Bree.

The streets of Bree were mostly deserted this late at night, but Aragorn saw some figures on the porches of their houses, always staying in the light of their houses and not further. Their had been rumours of strange folk about the surrounding areas of Bree, and so the old gate of the town was guarded once more, and a curfew was put in place to prevent people from being snatched away in the night as many feared would happen. Aragorn liked the town of Bree, where the greatest fear of many was being robbed on the way to their destination. The stories of Mordor and wraiths were just that, stories, but Aragorn knew better. If the ring had been found, it was only a matter of time, before the Nazgul were unleashed, and at that point what little hope a couple of Hobbits had would be gone. Even he would have a hard time against the nine, but at least he would have a chance evading them. He had to take the ring, it was the only way, for the Hobbit’s sake and for the sake of all Middle Earth.

“Good day Master Strider, what would you like?” The proprietor of the inn a robust man by the name of Barliman Butterbur asked.

“Good evening Master Butterbur. I will have a tankard of ale sent to my room please.” Aragorn said as he made his way up the stairs to his room at the end of the long hallway. He opened his door and smiled at the red sash laying on his bed. It seemed that the woman he had been sleeping with for the past month had formed a habit of leaving a piece of clothing in his room every night so she can come to collect it. Aragorn sat on a chair by the window overlooking the main street of Bree. He dropped his sword and bow and quiver to the side where he could hide them under the floorboards he had dug up. He wanted to be sure that if his room was broken into, his identity wouldn’t be revealed by his weapons laying around. He replaced the floorboards and buried his weapons all except for his dagger which he constantly kept by side because

A) It was given to him by his mother before she passed

B) It was given to him by Arwen along with the chain he wore around his neck

C) It was an heirloom of the Gondorian line of Kings stretching back to the Kings of Gondor

D) Leave a suggestion

He took his pipe from his jacket pocket and put some tobacco in it before lighting it with a match. He blew his smoke rings against the window keeping constant watch on the streets below. He heard a knock on his door and accepted the tankard of ale he had ordered from Master Butterbur and continued his watch. His watch reached its third hour when he spotted a group of four horsemen ride into town, they must be known to the gatekeeper because he let them in, but Aragorn hadn’t seen them before. Aragorn looked between the horsemen stopping before a house down the street a bit, and the red sash that lay on his bed.

A) Wait for the owner of the sash, the riders shouldn’t be any trouble

B) Go check out the riders, the lady shouldn’t mind too much

C) Leave a suggestion
