The Big Day

Your and Camilla's Wedding

Your family, friends and esteemed guests are seated nearest the alter. You don't pay mind to them. But Camilla's mother, Duchess Lucilla, is crying her out and Duke Renard was near tears. Every nobleman wanted their daughter to marry a king and become queen. The man must be feeling jubilant, see as how his daughter has been rejected by so many suitors. The man must have thought this day would never come.

The special guest of the occasion, King Franz Karl kept up his calm and seemingly happy face. But he did pay close attention to the ceremony.

This marriage will provide you with the inner stability you need. At least until you add more territory to your kingdom. So it became imperative that no one ever discovers the truth about Camilla and Dorothye. You talked to Franz Jacques and he claims that his men have rounded up almost all the spies in Ostgrenze. He has already made some of them squeal. He found none of them to be employed by Eliza. That was a relief. For now that would suffice but you will need to talk to your stepfather again on the matter of spies.

The cardinal of Ostgrenze asked for the vows and then came the 'I do's'. Camilla looked so serene and the happiest girl in the world when you said your 'I do'.

The cardinal then asked the infamous question in every wedding. "If there is anyone among you here that think these two should not be wedded in holy matrimony, please speak now or forever hold your piece." When no one raised any objections, the cardinal declared, "Then by the power vested in me by God, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

You lift up the translucent veil 'hiding' Camilla's face. You both share a smile before kissing passionately. The wedding guests all clapped their hands. Most eagerly like Dorothye and Camilla's parents. Some not so much like Franz Karl.

The celebrations were held next. Gifts were given by visiting nobles while the nobles of Ostgrenze including those from Lothelsabourg and Toscana had re-sworn their oaths of loyalty. You observe though that Dorothye had not been spotted by your eyes since the 'I do's'.

Now begins your first day of a married life. Or more rather, your first night.
