Approach them

You gulp down the glass of champagne for some liquid courage, then hand it off to a waiter before you walk over to Martha and her friend who are whispering into each other's ears as you approach.

"Martha, it's a pleasure to see you again," you say politely, extending your hand. She smiles and shakes it.

"John! I see your picture up there on the board. I'm impressed. Do you know my friend, Elsa Hosk? She's also an Angel," Martha says, introducing her friend.

"Ah! That's where I know you from!" you say, shaking Elsa's hand.

"Nice to meet you! Martha was just telling me about how you 2 met," Elsa says with a wink, and for a second, you don't know how to react, only laughing when the 2 supermodels break out into giggles.

"Are you here alone?" Martha asks.

"Uh... yes. I guess. This was a last minute thing for me," you say sheepishly.

"Okay, well, why don't Elsa and I be your dates for the night?"

"Yeah, that would be fun!" Elsa chimes in as she goes to your right and takes your arm while Martha grabs the other. Delighted to have 2 of the most beautiful women in the room hanging off your arms, you grin and let them lead you around the room to mingle with the rest of New York's social elite.
