Duke Dolphus' Daughter

It's strange, some might think, of seeing a King babysit his own baby sister. You woke up with Sophie's face so close to yours. You were almost tempted to give her a kiss good morning. Adelheid's morning cries woke her up though. Wanting to spend time with your baby sitter, the last full-blooded sibling your mother will bear. After this it will just be half-siblings. Not that it bothers you.

You volunteer to take care of Adelheid for the day and you spend it with Elizabeth, Jacqueline and Louis. You don't spend the day as nobles and monarchs but instead as people your age. Friendly chatter and doting on little Adelheid. It was a huge relief to have that moment where your responsibilities were forgotten. You all enjoy it as much as you can for such a day may never come again.

It was much later into the day when you are approached by a familiar girl. "Hello good King, good Prince, good Princess and my lady. May I join you?" She almost sounds like she's pleading. A girl with bright blonde hair that was tied into a braid settled between her breasts. Her fine dress signaled nobility. You know who is this but it was Elizabeth who answers. With a welcoming gesture of her arms, she says, "Of course."

"Who are you again?" Jacqueline rightfully asks.

Elizabeth takes the girl's hand and pulls her closer to you all. "This is Lady Hannah of the Duchy of Nornover." Elizabeth introduces her to you all. "She is a friend and the sister of my fiancee, Waldur."

"You are engaged to the son of Duke Dolphus. I did not know that." You let out.

"Well now you do, my brother." Her tone sounds displeased. If what is said about Waldur is true, then you find it perfectly understandable. If this girl is to be your future sister-in-law, then best make good with her. Louis and Jacqueline are also very kind towards her.

Throughout the time you spend with Hannah, you notices her slumped shoulders, her depressed mood and her irritation whenever someone tries to bring up her home life before quickly trying to change the subject. There is something up with the girl but you feel it isn't up to you to find out what.

Night had fallen. Louis and Jacqueline are summoned by King Francois. They are to have dinner with him. Hannah had taken Elizabeth to have some private girl-to-girl talk. Sophie comes to pick up Adelheid for your mother. Which left you by yourself. You consider turning in for the night so you return to your quarters. You were about to change your clothes to something more suitable for sleeping until you heard a knock on your door.
