Calendar Girl !

The clamour for Lawrence to come up with more Debbi product was most strong from a source in India who wanted her for a specific project they had in mind. They were prepared to fly her and Lawrence out there for a week and to accommodate them at no cost. Lawrence knew he would be able to pocket both the photographer and the model fee if only he could come up with a story that Debbi would swallow. After much thought, he decided upon an approach that he thought could work and he made his pitch.

Debbi was a little surprised to hear Lawrence's gay banter at the end of the line as she picked up her phone in the office. "How much annual leave have you got left gorgeous ?" he asked. "Still have about ten days. Why ?" answered Debbi. "Then use five of those to come to India with me for a week free of charge !" he continued. Debbi laughed. "That's not the kind of offer a girl gets every day. Why me ? What's happening ?" "It'll all be paid for" Lawrence backtracked slightly. "I know what a kindhearted girl you are. There's a charity element. Do you know how many poor people in India still don't have a reliable water supply ? Millions of them. The charity Water Help is doing such great work with this."

"That's dreadful" said Debbi. "But I still don't understand the connection." "Did you ever see that movie Calendar Girls ?" continued Lawrence. "Yeah, it was a hoot" said Debbi. "Well, the charity have asked me to produce one like that but they want it shot on location in India where the problems are. And my first thought was for my most favourite and most gorgeous model !" Debbi laughed. "But I'm a respectable business woman, I can't get my bits out like that" she protested. "You've seen those calendars I'm sure. It all looks very daring but there are all these strategically placed props so nobody sees anything important." "That's true" agreed Debbi. "And you know my work, you know I can handle an assignment like that" persuaded Lawrence. "That's true too. But why not a professional model ?" asked Debbi. "The whole point of these calendars is that the models aren't professionals. And anyway, you're better looking and much more fun to work with !"

Lawrence had been prepared for a harder sell but his sweet talking worked remarkably quickly on Debbi. It was all bullshit of course, there was no such calendar. But he could afford to spend a little time photographing those kind of shots that he could show Debbi. And once he had her out there, he was sure his spiel would charm her into also doing what was really wanted by the trip's sponsors !
