Chapter 7 by here332 here332

Where are they?

No where good

He regretted asking instantly as the memories all resurfaced at once. He did this all the time, he partially believed it's why Cailin acted the way she did to him.

She was more than an overly playful tease, at times she could be downright cruel and often enough does whatever she can to wreck your life.

He didn't blame her though. He would play The Game for so long that he would forget things from his real life and say stuff like that.

His father was never around and his mom married her dad, who's wife had died. He and Cailin met were only a year apart in age, she was fourteen and he was thirteen.

Jango had been home schooled up until then and his mother, Gwen, had a genius level intellect and home schooled him. He inherited the academic portion of that genius, so since it was all he had to really focus on he excelled at learning.

Ron, his new 'dad', insisted that Jango go to a normal school to gain experience with people. He meant well and Jango actually respected the man, after all it was hard to earn his mothers love only god truly knows how many men have tried. The only problem was he was as dumb as a bag of rocks. A bag of rocks his daughter could open and get whatever she wanted from. (Weird metaphor but go with it)

He was supposed to start in eighth grade during the new school year but his mother, more or less, **** the school to give him a special placement test.

He nearly aced it, out of 100 questions only got got 23 wrong. He thought that was at least eleventh grade worthy, but the school decided it was only tenth grade worthy.

Their parents worked at the same place and often had to travel for work. Gwen was a pioneer of the digital age, helping create the system the The Game is played on, aptly named The Game System. Ron was her personal security guard, it's how this first met.

It was two years ago, the two of them were on their way to the big reveal of The Game System. The plane they were on disappeared in the middle of a storm. They flew into it but never came back out, just... poof.

This was, in Jango's personal opinion, the worst part of being smart. Forgetting something so important just to have it slap you in the face the second you ask about it.

Quite literally in this case because no sooner then he said the words, Cailin was in front of him and was already slapping him as hard as she could.

"Fuck you." She said in a calm yet angry voice "Go back upstairs and play your stupid fucking game, and don't come back down for the rest of the night. I'm going to be... busy." Her face twisting into a wicked grin

Should he stay or should he go?
