They call it a night

"So, where do you want to go now?" John asked unsure what to do after seeing that poor man on stage.

Robin finally was able to get his hand back from John with a yank. Robin looked at his friend with confusion as he tried to figure out what was going on with him.

"Are you okay?" he asked Robin.

"What happened back there?" Robin said, finally finding the words.

"I don't know, he seemed okay enough. Maybe the heat from the lights got to him? He was sweating," John answered.

"No...No, not that. Dude, you kissed me in front of all those people. What the fuck?" Robin said.

"Oh, sorry. I know you are a shy girl. I wasn't thinking," John said feeling guilty that he made his date uncomfortable.

"Drop the act," Robin spit back at him.

"It's not an act. I am sorry. I didn't realize that kissing you in front of all of those people was going to bother you. I promise I won't do it again. You are a special girl and I wouldn't hurt you on purpose," He told Robin.

"Dude, I'm not a girl..." Robin told him, getting freaked out.

"Woman...sorry," John said, feeling like he screwed things up.

"I'm a man, you asshole!" Robin shouted.

"You...wha...?" John said as he closed his eyes. Pain swept his face, and he grabbed his head. He started to sway and began to fall over but Robin moved fast. He grabbed onto John and slowed the fall of the much bigger guy. Robin hovered over his friend, his anger and disgust replaced with worry. The moment eventually passed but it felt like ages until John seemed okay.

"What happened?" John asked in a low, pained voice.

"I don't know," Robin said not sure, himself.

"I think I want to go home..." John told his girlfriend.

"Sure. Okay," Robin said leading him to the car.

They walked back to the car and drove home in silence. Robin drove while trying to think about what had happened. Hypnosis couldn't be real, could it? It would explain John's behavior but this was insane. Robin looked at John and he wasn't looking good at all. John had finally been happy for the first time in weeks and then all of that had to happen.

If he really was hypnotized, "breaking up" with him wouldn't just break his heart. Robin had to think of what he was willing to do in this bizarre scenario.
