Photo Opportunity !

Carol's only real motivation behind the bogus fashion show was to expose Debbi. But she discovered a welcome and unexpected bonus in the shape of a hugely significant leap in the sales of her naughty knickers party plan sideline. The boost was so significant as to attract the attention of the regional manager for that operation. Carol explained it was the result of Debbi's catwalk performance and showed Karen the manager some of the photos the audience had taken that night. Karen was ambitious and wanted to move on from the region to the national head office. She was therefore looking for something she could show to head office to boost her profile.

"There's obviously something about her that triggers the buy impulse in our punters" she remarked to Carol when she came to see her. "And guys seem motivated to buy stuff for their other halves after watching her too" agreed Carol. "I can set up a professional photo shoot. Do you think you can interest her in being the face and body of our next catalogue ?" asked Karen. Carol had not explained that Debbi had only taken part because Carol had conned her into it and not because she was some closet exhibitionist ! This could be tricky. "I'm not sure but let me think on it and I'll get back to you" was the best that Carol could do at this point. "OK but I need an answer in a couple of days" said Karen.

Carol realised that her only real chance was to build on the already fabricated story about the sixth form college girls being offered a generous commission for their lingerie and play wear line. The company was continuing its community support for the college, so that inducement for Debbi to co-operate still applied. But Carol had only just got away with it last time at the catwalk show and Debbi had said to her then "never again." There was nothing to be lost in rolling the dice, however. Carol's pitch was that it looked as if the commission would be successful for the girls but they needed to submit a professionally shot portfolio for their final presentation to those executives who were unable to make it to the catwalk show.

"And you were such a knockout Deb, it's got to be you for the photos" said Carol. "No way" was Debbi's instant response. "That was most definitely a one off. They'll have to hire a model." "There's no time for that, it has to be submitted next week. And the girls can't pay for a model anyway, even though their entire futures are at stake." Carol could sense Debbi wavering and continued. "I suppose I could ask Jeff to increase the company spend on the college but it would still be hassle to hire a model in time and he might not like it if he knew you could have easily saved that cost and avoided the hassle !" Carol could see that Debbi was close to caving in. "And the photos will be taken so that your face isn't in them" she lied. "It's only the gear they're interested in after all" she argued. "OK,OK, I'll do it. But this is the last time" insisted Debbi. Whatever thought Carol, as she went off to make the arrangements !
