Pretend to be someone else

"Um... I'm..." you say, pausing to think about how you want to identify yourself to Pammy, before you activate 1 of your magic rings and stop time. Then, you teleport away to a police station, where you walk around looking for guys wearing suits, until you find someone who kind of looks like you and you search his pockets. You find what you're looking for: his detective credentials and badge. Coincidentally, he has the same first name as you. John Markovski. Satisfied, you take the badge and teleport back to the library and let time resume.

"...an undercover detective John Markovski, with the NYPD," you flash the stolen credentials for a few seconds, just enough for Pammy to caught a glimpse of the man's face which sort of looks like you, before putting it away.

"Oh!" Pammy utters, surprised and confused while she waits for you to explain why you're here.

You haven't really thought this all the way through, so you say the first thing that comes to mind, "I'm investigating an underground **** ring on this campus. According to my sources, it seems that there has been a recent spike in **** usage and overdoses in this campus recently, and I have reason to believe that this library is key to that rise."

"What do you mean?"

"We believe the supplier is using the library as a distribution point, where students come here to purchase ****."

"And you need my help finding the suspect? I haven't noticed anything strange or any **** dealing. Frankly, I'd be surprised if it were true," Pammy says.

"Well, that's the thing... I've checked the records, and it appears that the spike in **** distribution began about the same time you started to work at the library," you reply, doing everything in your power to maintain a straight face.

"You think I'm the **** dealer?!?" Pammy gasps loudly.

"I just want to ask you some questions. Is there somewhere we can speak in private?"
