Chapter 5 by dkgooner dkgooner

A little morning reading in your office?

Just a few pages

It simply wouldn’t do. The headmistress of this old institution didn’t read her own personal books, certainly not of a genre like that, in the office. Would be unprofessional… but, it’s just a few pages, no harm done right? And even as you had argued these points your hands had reached for the purse and now held the book.

You actually show some discipline at first. Just leafing through the book and making some mental notes of passages you want to revisit tonight, the words and memories of yesterday’s playtime before bed causing your body to grow hotter. Then a number of minutes before the scheduled arrival of the first of the new teachers you do put the book into one of the desk drawers and collect your thoughts, putting on your professional demeanor again.

Trying to maintain this as you glance at the clock above your office door with a deep sigh, watching the seconds tick away as the minutes slowly pass. When the clock is more than a handful of minutes past the scheduled time of arrival for Mr. Sharp you are once more leaning back in your chair, the desk drawer open and the romance novel in your hand.

At first you keep an eye at the open door to the outer office, while finding yourself rereading the commotion the Highlander caused within one rival clan during a visit. While the two clans were not feuding, the tension is described as relatively high as the chieftains met with their guest, all the while his presence caused a stir among the women, which too risked inflaming tensions. Finding yourself becoming immerged in the description of the Highlanders powerful physique you quickly forget about the door to the outer office, your free hand making its way to your neck and massaging the skin there.

Stepping beyond the trees and into the last rays of afternoon sun illuminating the small clearing behind the Argyle MacKay’s large home, MacGregor placed his sword against a large stone before moving into the flowing stream of water. Unbuckling the belted plaid draped across his shoulder he pauses to glance around, feeling as if eyes are upon him as he bares his large, muscular chest. With his hands he throws water in his face, standing up and shaking his long dark hair back as the water pours down his body, his skin glistening in the light.

“Edith!” a voice ring out, making him calmly turn his head, “What do you girls think you’re doing?”

“Mum!” one of the two young girls now sticking their head out from beyond some bushes cries out in response.

“Back inside lasses!” the woman orders, the MacGregor recognizing her as the sister of the MacKay chief and wife of the warrior Rae, “Help out prepare for tonight’s feast… and leave our guest be!”

Giggling the two girls scamper away, the highlander making eye contact with the wife of …

You snap your head up at the sound of a noise in the outer office, hearing a male voice call your name.

Looking down you see your free hand cupping a breast, breath caught in your throat as you remain frozen for a brief moment. Quickly tossing the book into the still open drawer before shutting it, you straighten your clothes and quickly collect your thoughts as you step to the door.

Arrival of Mr. Sharp?
