"My name's Calvo, I was a prisoner at the compound." He answered. "I got caught smuggling. When you pirates attacked I made a break for it and when I returned to the prison to see if I could salvage anything your people were going to hang me and the guard captain. I got us free and disguised myself and was trying to get clear with the captain when I walked straight into a group of you mercs and had to go back to the ship with them."

"So what happened to the real Handsome?" The pirate woman enquired

"I killed him." Calvo admitted, expecting the dark haired merc to shoot him out of hand.

"Well done." Gypsy congratulated him surprisingly with a light laugh."That swine certainly won't be missed."

"How did you get in here, I locked the door?" Calvo asked her."And why? I thought you'd be busy with your whore."

"I picked the lock of course." Gypsy replied, grinning. "I already knew you weren't Handsome, not with a cock the size I felt back in the **** hold. Calvo stared in disbelief, the F.B.L.E or FABLE as it was known was the most ruthless and effective police unit in the quadrant. For it's operatives there were no borders to their juridiction. They were charged with seeking out serious crime whether inside or outside of federation territory and were empowered to act as judge, jury and executioner. Since Calvo had already admitted to her that he was a smuggler and a fugitive the beautiful but deadly agent would have no qualms about killing him at all.

"I think I prefer option one." Calvo said cautiously. "But why the hell would you want to deputise me?"

"Because you're going to help me take that pirate ship." Gypsy told him. "You, and those guardwomen."

"The guardwomen!" Calvo spluttered increduously. "Since when did the Federation and the Tau Cetian guard ever work together? Besides even if we freed all those guardwomen we'd still be outnumbered at least two to one by the merc-pirates."

"I have a plan to even the odds when the time comes." Gypsy reassured him. "The guardwomen know you saved some of them and as strange as it seems, they might trust you to some extent. If the plan comes from you they need never know that the Federation was involved, we'll just drop them off back on Tau Ceti two."

Calvo's mind was reeling, he still couldn't figure the Federation's motive for assisting the escape of the guardwomen, but in the Byzantine politics of the interstellar powers anything was possible.. That still left one unanswered question though.

"So how are we to explain the fact that you are working with me to the guardwomen?" He demanded.

"That's the easy part." Gypsy said. "I'm going to be your lover."

"My lover!" Cried Calvo. "Do you honestly believe they'll buy that act?"

"Who said I'd be acting?" The sexy agent said.
